SHIP is a registered charity which was set up in the 1980’s by parents of disabled children as a self-help group. The point of our charity is to improve the quality of life for children with special needs and those who care for them.
We promote the health, education and well being of our young people through play and leisure activities, supporting them and encouraging social integration within the community where possible. We also endeavour to support the families and carers of our children.
When children come to SHIP and SPLASH they are supported 1:1 at all times by one of our highly committed and trained Volunteers, who ensure the individual needs of the child are met within a safe and structured environment. The Volunteers are, in turn, supported by our experienced and enthusiastic Play Leaders who have additional training and are employed by the charity.
We are a not-for profit registered charity set up to enhance the quality of life of disabled children and their families and carers in Perth and Kinross through the provision of leisure activities.
The Constitution for S.H.I.P. was adopted on
31 May 2011.
